This once in a lifetime Ring of Kerry tour should not to be missed. Our day begins with a drive along the scenic Ring of Kerry in our luxurious air-conditioned transport. You will visit the Island of Valentia an area of outstanding beauty. The fishing village of Pormagee with an option to visit the Skellig Experience Centre. Driving to the heights point overlooking the great bays of the Wild Atlantic Way. Our tour will lead us along to the Killarney National Park and the town of Killarney.

Derrynane House

Derrynane House is the ancestral home of Irish politician Daniel O’Connell, one of the great statesmen of Irish history. The house is now a museum to O’Connell’s life and career. 300 acres of land make up the Derrynane National Historic Park and it was officially opened to the public in 1967. The house is surrounded by beautiful woodland walkways, and to the south lies the pristine Derrynane Beach. This is a great, relaxing stop along the Ring of Kerry.

Kenmare town

Kenmare (Neidín or little nest) is a beautiful town located at at the head of Kenmare Bay, between the Iveragh and Beara Peninsulas. Renowned for its treasure trove of bars, restaurants and shops, you’ll feel right at home here. With it’s backdrop of the Caha mountains, and the Wild Atlantic beckoning to the west, this is a tourist town like no other. Like most Irish towns, it also has ancient roots. One of the largest stone circles in the south-west of Ireland is closeby, and there is evidence of settlers in the area since the Bronze Age (2,200–500 B.C). The circle has 15 stones around the circumference with a dolmen in the centre.

Waterville

Waterville

Waterville is a small seaside town on the western edge of the Ring of Kerry. Well known worldwide for its golf course, Waterville was famously a favourite holiday destination of Charlie Chaplin. Waterville is also a well known fising destination with the Atlantic to the west and the freshwater Lough Currane immediately to the east.

Skellig Islands

Off the Kerry coast lie the Skellig islands, home to a community of hardy monks in the 6th century. A truly spectacular place, Skellig Michael is guarded to the north-east by its neighbour, Little Skellig, with it’s protected gannet colony of 23,000 nesting pairs.

A short 20-mile loop off the main Ring of Kerry between the towns of Caherciveen and Waterville lies the Skellig Ring. This secluded little area of dramatic coastline affords fantastic views of the Skellig Islands, lying 12km off the coast.

Portmagee

Portmagee

Stop off on your journey along the Wild Atlantic Way to visit the little village of Portmagee. This is the departure point for most Skellig Island trips but is also home to many local festivals and music sessions. Across the bridge at Portmagee is Valentia Island.
